Here’s what I’d do:

Pay off all debt

Donate to my local Interact

Hire someone to decorate my house perfectly to my taste. Even if I’m not quite sure what that taste is, they will just *know.*

Throw a really big party where Britney performs a few choice songs

What would you do?

I like pretending: so I would spend it this way:

pay off all our debt
throw several grand in Caroline’s college fund
make a nice down pmt on a little apt in the meatpacking district
buy cjm a CJ7 like he wants
make a nice donation to St. Jude and the Leukemia/Lymphoma society

i am posting this about a fellow tumblr. no, i have never met her, but that’s what makes tumblr so awesome! on a daily basis, we share our lives with each other and this chick is certainly one i would hit it off with. from her fun, funky sense of style to her witty humor about life as a married gal, one is sure to get a chuckle or twenty from her!

every morning i have a list of favorites and i make it a point to hit the daily julie.

follow her if you don’t already cause she is quite entertaining.

those black mary janes are like her security blanket. she gets them from her closet and has learned to put them on…the right foot, too.

i have to pry them from her chubby little feet once she falls asleep everynight.

and yes, she is sitting in the cabinet. on a pot. i give her my wire whisk and she gets busy with it.

and we have to suction her little nose out. when she sees the blue bulb coming at her she says ‘no boogers daddy’

when she was born, cjm and i made a deal: i’d do the number two diapers but he was always always on booger duty. he’s been ’on duty’ overtime this week, poor fella.

my only resolution for 2010:

be thankful to be in it.

i spent this year worrying about things i can’t change, hurrying to do everything in the most efficient way, not necessarily the best way. i have overlooked the blessings and focused on the tragedies.

with all chris and i have overcome in these 365 days, we won’t be putting 2009 on our list of great years. but we will remember this year as one we learned a lot about ourselves.

i know there are very few men in this world that could live with a girl like me. i obsess over simple things and barely acknowledge major problems. i have the patience of a two year old and a raging temper. i cry a lot. i apologize a lot less than he does. i have not mastered the art of ‘picking my battles’ and often start an argument for no reason at all….but for some reason, he gets me. for some reason, he loves me and for some reason he married me.

i know he is not perfect, either. he’s got his faults just the same. but i love him. i get him. and i am so glad i married him. and it took a near fatal accident to make us realize how truly fortunate we are to have each other.

sure, we have always been grateful for one another, but when something happens to the one you love and you get the brief glance at what your life would be like without them…you begin to overlook the quirks and the imperfections and you are just thankful they are ALIVE.

so my resolution for 2010 is to let all the little aggravations and annoyances in my life slide right by. i am going to pray a lot more. i am going to take our little girl on walks every afternoon when i get home. i am going to steal kisses from chris at stoplights like i did when we dated. i am going to appreciate my family more.

i am thankful for the life i have. come on new year! i’m ready for ya!
